ZagrebMed has signed a cooperation agreement with Zavarovalnica Sava, making it the insurer’s channel partner for Croatia. It is the platform’s second such arrangement with a Slovenian insurer, after Merkur Zavarovalnica.
Insurer contracts are the harder win. A payer is not persuaded by a stand at a trade fair; it wants a counterparty that will answer the phone, hold the appointment and carry the coordination burden it does not want to carry itself. ZagrebMed is being bought here as infrastructure rather than as a shop window, which is the layer most emerging destinations skip while they concentrate on visibility.

Novo Mesto, Slovenia, 16 July 2026 – ZagrebMed, a digital platform connecting patients from Croatia and abroad with leading private medical institutions, has signed a cooperation agreement with Zavarovalnica Sava, one of Slovenia’s leading insurance companies.
Under the new partnership, ZagrebMed will act as Zavarovalnica Sava’s channel partner for Croatia, supporting insured clients who require medical services in the country. The platform will coordinate appointment scheduling and communication with medical institutions and, depending on the patient’s needs, provide assistance with travel arrangements and other treatment-related logistics.
The partnership provides insured clients with a single point of contact for accessing Croatian medical institutions, from the initial enquiry and selection of the appropriate medical service to appointment scheduling and treatment delivery. The cooperation with Zavarovalnica Sava represents a continuation of ZagrebMed’s activities in connecting Slovenian insurance companies with Croatian healthcare providers. ZagrebMed previously established and successfully developed a partnership with Merkur Zavarovalnica in Slovenia, enabling its insured clients to access medical services through the ZagrebMed network of partner institutions.
