Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), the state-run operator of Seven Luck Casino, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Medical Tourism Association to integrate medical tourism content for its foreign-only casino customers. The strategy aims to extend visitors’ stays and boost overall tourism spending in South Korea.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday, 12 May 2026, at the Korea Medical Tourism Association’s main conference room in Seocho-gu, Seoul. This initiative seeks to generate new tourism demand by linking medical, cultural, and tourism experience content specifically for international visitors to Seven Luck Casino. The move expands the casino visit experience beyond shopping and lodging to include medical and wellness offerings.
Collaboration Details
Under the MOU, GKL and the Korea Medical Tourism Association plan to jointly develop medical, cultural, and tourism-linked products tailored for foreign visitors. Both organisations will also carry out combined marketing and promotional activities for these new offerings.
Furthermore, the collaboration includes provisions for ongoing information exchange and network cooperation to invigorate tourism. This is intended to strengthen the overall appeal of South Korea as a destination that combines entertainment with health services for international guests.
New Initiatives for Visitors and Staff
Starting in June, the Korea Medical Tourism Association will provide “K-Wellness & Hospitality” training for GKL customer service staff. This programme is designed to improve the staff’s understanding of medical tourism products for foreign visitors and to enhance their on-site service capabilities, ensuring a better experience for guests interested in health-related services.
GKL also plans to establish and operate a “K-Medical Tourism Theme Hall” at Seven Luck Casino. This dedicated area will allow visitors to directly experience K-medical tourism content, offering a tangible introduction to South Korea’s health tourism offerings within the casino environment.
GKL President Yoon Doo-hyeon commented on the agreement, stating, “We expect to boost customer satisfaction and contribute to invigorating medical tourism by providing differentiated content to foreign visitors of Seven Luck. We will continue to work on expanding tourism spending and improving regional tourism infrastructure through public-private cooperation.”
Why this matters
This collaboration in Seoul integrates medical tourism directly into the entertainment sector, a strategy increasingly adopted globally to diversify offerings for high-value tourist segments. It aims to extend visitor duration and increase spending by combining leisure with health-related services for an existing inbound market.
